“Greeks? It’s all About Thetas!”

Great Greek Week Ladies!!!  Now we can all take a deep breath… This year’s Greek Week was another success!  It was great to see so many sisters involved, participating, and imputing their own unique ideas that helped make Thetas’ participation in this year’s Greek Week one in a few.  Although we can’t forget about our excellent, hard working pledges who did an extraordinary job.  I want to take this moment to thank all my sisters and pledges for all their time, effort, and dedication.

This year was a great example of what teamwork is all about.  Greek Week started out with the building of the Theta Greek House, whose theme was “El Pollo Loco”, and many contributed with their small grain of rice, earning Theta Sigma Chi the first place award for House Building.  Way to go LADIES!  Special thanks, also, to the El Pollo Loco Headquarters who donated several items for our house.  Thank you María for making that contact!

The week continued with many lunch events, games, free food, and music.  Many Thetas, as well as pledges, got the opportunity to participate in the lunch games held during lunch throughout the week.  All the games were worth points; some gave us headaches and made us lose our temper (I speak from experience), and others were just a lot of fun!  And I don’t hear anyone complaining about the free food!  Good job working together and getting all active members to sign in during sign-in days…those points definitely went a long way!

And of course we can’t forget about the highlight of Greek Week… the Flag Football game and the Talent Show!  We almost bit each other’s heads off, but sure had a lot of fun with it.  We got the opportunity to spend a great amount of time working with each other, which brought us closer together to our most recent class, the Nu class, and our soon to be Xi class.  It could not have been done without the contribution of all of you ladies who came out of worked your butts off.

Congratulations Ladies!  Theta’s finished up in third place overall, for the entire week; in second place for flag football game; and fourth place for the talent show.  Once again a special thanks to you all, members, alumni, and pledges: María D., Lydia, Rosa, Denise, Alex, Monica C., RoseAnna, Erica, Meche, Verónica, Rosalba, Chela, Alba, Irma, Sonia, María, Evelia, Maggui, Mayra, Jessica, Ivonne, Dulce, and last but not least, our “Pollo Loco” who was present from the start.  Thank You…
